We've done it again! Today, Golden Halo Design has launched their second app to the Android marketplace. The focus of this app was to create a very easy to use, intuitive mortgage/loan calculator. Simply plug in a loan amount, loan term, and interest rate and click on the "Show Payment" button. BAM! There you have the monthly loan payment. What's that, not enough information? Want to break down the loan by month? No problem! Just click the "Amortization Schedule" button and we will generate a table with payments from now to the end of the loan.

The amortization schedule is especially useful for existing loans that you have. All that you have to do is change the date to the start date of your existing loan and you can see in the table how much you owe now or any time in the future.

Lastly, we included the ability for you to save loans. Most of us with home loans have two mortgages, so it is great to be able to save each one and check in at any time to see the amortization schedule.

Are we missing any functionality that you expected or want to see? Let us know at and we will do our best to add the feature for you!

We are proud to announce that today, Golden Halo Design launched our first Android app! The motivation for this app came when my wife and I stayed at a bed and breakfast and played a game of cards. However, there was no paper or pens, leaving us with no way of keeping score. Of course now, that is a problem of the past!!

With this being our first app, we wanted to focus on an application that put simply, just worked. The interface is really straightforward, trying to make life as easy as possible on the user. When you first launch the app, you are taken to a list of saved games (which of course is empty the first you launch). If you do have any saved games, you can simply click on a game and be taken straight to the saved state. Otherwise, you can create a new game from here.

When creating a game, all you need is to create the game name (so that you can easily find it in the saved list next time you come back to the game) and the number of players (1-10). That's it! You are ready to start playing! Players are initially defaulted with the names "Player 1", "Player 2", through "Player n" where n is the number of players. If you so desire, you can long click a player to change their name from "Player x" to "Stanley" or whatever you choose.

Now we are ready for the fun stuff! You have created a game at this point and setup the players, who are all defaulted to a starting score of 0. Since scores in different games can go up or down, each player has buttons with the a "+" and a "-" on them so that you can ensure that the score is added or subtracted given the circumstances. Whenever a score change happens, there are two changes. First, the players score is updated to reflect this, and second, an entry is created in the score column. In the case of phones, where there isn't much real estate, the score history can easily run out of space, so that entire section is scrollable so you are never left in the dark as far as how the game scores progressed.

Well, that is all for now, check back later for our latest and great apps!
